Hello everyone! As you know this last year is very hectic between clinical rotations for the school and being out on externships. I would like to have a rhinoplasty done sometime within the next year, before graduation. I could take off time from one of my school rotations to have this done, and be able to recover at home. Would it be realistic for me to be able to return to my rotations within 1-2 weeks?
Answer: Rhinoplasty During Med School This is probably one of the better times to do it. You are only going to get busier as you progress through your training. You should look pretty normal after one week or so. As long as it does not mess with your interview schedule you should be fine.

Answer: Rhinoplasty and M4 Year Thank you very much for your question.Congratulations on almost being done with medical school! If you're worried about timing, I think getting the procedure done when you're a 4th year medical student is a great idea. It will be much easier to get this done and recover than it will when you're an intern/resident/fellow/attending. Get as much done now while you can.1-2 weeks for recovery should be sufficient.I recommend consulting with a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience, who will then come up with a good plan for you and discuss the recovery process in detail. Best of luck!

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Congratulations on nearing the end of medical school. I usually advise my patients to take off from work for 7 days after surgery. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Rhinoplasty I think that if you set aside 10 days for recovery, you will be more than ready to go back into your rotations. Good luck in your last year!

Answer: Rhinoplasty and recovery To be safe, a two week recovery period should be adequate after you rhinoplasty. Of course you will still have some residual swelling at that point; however, this will continue to improve over next several weeks after your surgery.
