What is the best protein shake for after a tummy tuck?

Thank you for your question.  It is always best to incorporated protein shakes with your recovery as a protein source, but you should eat a well balanced diet to get your protein intake.  You should start a multi vitamin before surgery which is very important for wound healing.  I tend to recommend the scar gel (bioCorneum) it has the silicone and SPF 30.  This type of scar management is so easy for patients rather than the silicone strips.  As far as your compression garment, I would consult with your plastic surgeon.  There are many different types of garments out there on the market. It would be best to get your protein via real food such as meats, eggs, tofu, etc.  The protein shakes should be a supplement not a replacement for your meals.  You should ask you PS about scar therapy and compression garments.  Most patients are walking upright by 2 weeks.

Eat a healthy diet.  Take vitamins, and drink protein drinks as a supplement.  Discuss your compression garment with your surgeon as well as scar management.  Best wishes!
