I am 7mo pp from my second birth via Csection. I remember the numbness with my first, however, it went away after a couple of months, its still there 7mo later. The overhang has always been there since my first Csection. I have always been in good shape and eat healthy. Obviously the only way to get rid of the overhang would be a tt, how long do you have to wait after having a Csection? & will that rid the numbness? I know for my breast reduction I have to wait 12 months-is it similar with a tt?
Answer: Timing for tummy tuck Hello, most of my patients wait about 8-12 months after their c-section before considering more surgery, not only to allow for healing but to wait until their baby is a little older and requires less intensive care. However, technically it might be possible to do the procedure sooner if you are healing well.

Answer: How long do I need to wait for a tummy tuck? Dear lindsayYou can generally have a tummy tuck, safely 6 months post partum and a breast procedure, 6 months after you have stopped breast feeding. I think if you are considering breast surgery as well, it might be to your advantage to do both at same time. Look for experienced and properly trained Plastic Surgeon. See more than one surgeon. take your time and make a well informed decision.

Answer: How long do I need to wait for a tummy tuck? Hi Lindsay! You state that it has been 7 mo since your C-section, so you are ready to start your journey toward your tummy tuck! I typically tell patients that they should wait at least 6 months after childbirth to have a tummy tuck, so you are there. The numbness that you are experiencing will not be corrected with the tummy tuck, however the tissue where you are numb now will be removed, but the same area (below the belly button) will be numb after a tummy tuck. Most of this numbness resolves within a year, but there is usually an area in the middle above the incision that never gets normal sensation. Good luck in your journey!

Answer: How long do I need to wait for a tummy tuck? Thank you for the question. Based on your history and description, you will likely be a good candidate for tummy tuck surgery at some point. Best to wait at least 6 months to one year after C section prior to seeking consultation with board certified plastic surgeons. Ask to see lots of examples of their work and communicate your goals clearly as well. Make sure that you are aware that this operation is associated with a very significant physical and emotional recovery period. Generally speaking, the “ideal” patient for tummy tuck surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, is capable of arranging enough recovery time, does not smoke and who has reached a long-term stable weight. Keep in mind, that some numbness (temporary or permanent) is commonly experienced after tummy tuck surgery as well. I hope this, and the attached link, helps. Best wishes.

Answer: When to have a tummy tuck after c-sections will vary by what your problem is and whether you are at a stable weight. Your photos suggest a simple scar revision may be adequate to provide a flatter contour. But you really need to see a local plastic surgeon for the whole list of options that are available to you and from which you can choose.
