Tummy Tuck with muscle repair - braces during surgery?

Question

I am considering TT with diastasis repair after 3 kids. I am 5'5" and 106 lb. No extra weight. Diastasis is the main issue versus skin. If anything, the skin will require minimal removal. I do have a question regarding surgery. I am about to have braces put on my teeth. Would I need to have them removed for the surgery since they are metal?

Loose dentures and bridges are usually a problem during surgery. Braces are suitable for surgery provided you speak to the anesthesiologist prior to the operation.

Hello, usually it is still possible to have an elective procedure while wearing braces.  You could discuss this with your surgeon and anesthesiologist to determine if there are any additional risks in your case.
