Hello, I'm 33 and weigh 150 pounds, with a body fat percentage of 15, according to a recent DEXA scan. My highest weight was 260 in 2013. The two surgeons I've met with so far have recommended an extended tummy tuck and said they are hesitant to give me the larger scars from FDL and 360. This seems like the right call. One doctor also said that down the road, I might want to consider a wedge excision of the flanks. Do you agree? Does anyone have any additional advice? Thanks.

Answer: Tummy tuck Dear leo2700, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Is an extended tummy tuck the best option for me? Thanks so much for your inquire, An extended tummy tuck could be a great option depending on your specific goals and needs. This procedure is designed to address both the abdominal area and the flanks, providing a more comprehensive result compared to a traditional tummy tuck. If you have significant loose skin or excess fat not just in the abdominal area but also extending to your sides or back, an extended tummy tuck might be more suitable. Consider whether you want a more extensive contouring that includes the flanks or hips. An extended tummy tuck offers a more complete result in these areas. The best way to determine if an extended tummy tuck is right for you is to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. They can evaluate your condition, discuss your goals, and recommend the most appropriate procedure.
