I had BOTOX done to hide gummy smile however it lengthened and flattened my upper lip way too much making me look like I've aged bigtime. I feel my upperlip disappear every time i smile and area above upperlip is too flat. Would adding fillers to my upperlip help??? I had a beautiful wide smile. I feel I can't smile anymore and I look ridiculous smiling in pictures!

If one injects an injectable filler into your upper lip it will only add volume and make the lip appear more prominent. I would also suggest scheduling a follow-up visit with your board certified plastic surgeon to make him/her aware of your outcome following treatment. That way, your board certified plastic surgeon can adjust his formula if you were to ever have this treatment performed again. Good luck!

Answer: Botox for Gummy smile Botox is a great treatment for gummy smile. In your case it looks like too much botox might have been used. Good news is the botox will wear off. Fillers are a great choice as well for gummy smile.

The most prudent course, unfortunately, would be to wait it out. When I approach a patient with a gummy smile, I tend to use very conservative doses to make sure that I don't overcorrect. It is much safer to add a little more in a couple weeks time to reach the desired degree of correction. You should find that with time, you will get the desired degree of gummy smile correction since your Botox will be wearing down. It would be helpful to know what dose and which muscles were targeted. I would also keep track of how long it took to get from over-corrected to the desired level of correction. This would help optimize your dose for the future.

Answer: Hello, gummy smile botox treatment is a bad treatment. It sounds all great but it is not at all good. The treatment is freezing and dropping muscles that you absolutely need to have working. It is extremely dysphoric and debilitating to have these muscles frozen with botox. Unfortunately it will take months for this effect to wear off.

Answer: Gummy smile Over correction The amount of toxin required for a gummy smile is very little as this is a very effective treatment with very little toxin. I would advise waiting until it wears off and halving the amount used in future treatments. I would not advise lip fillers at this stage.
