Q: Can lip filler cause permanent moustache bruising? (photos)
What you are describing sounds like the Tyndall effect. The Tyndall effect is a blue colour that your eye sees when light hits the area the filler was injected as the HA in the filler product has multiple small particles within it and it can cause scattering of light in the blue spectrum (similar to why the sky appears blue). In aesthetics, the Tyndall effect can occur if HA filler is placed too superficially or if filler migrates out of the lip to the perioral area . At first the blue colour may be mistaken for a mild but deep bruise. However, the discolourations does not go away over a few days unlike bruising.
The best solution for Tyndall is using a substance called hyaluronidase to liquify the filler to resolve the refraction of light. Alternatively, as your body slowly breaks down the filler the colour will resolve but in the case of lip filler it could take up to 6 months.
Q: Would rogaine be beneficial? (Photo)
My experience in women with hair loss it can multifactorial. In your case, androgenetic alopecia or female pattern baldness is a possible diagnosis but we would want to make sure there is no other contributing factor like low iron or anemia, vitamin D deficiency, thyroid disease. At our clinic, we do a complete history, drug history and scalp exam with a dermatoscope to confirm your diagnosis we also offer scalp biopsy if the diagnosis is unclear. Rogaine can be helpful androgenetic alopecia when used regularly. My experience is Rogaine can stabilize the slow and steady hair loss but not regrow hair. It is a good first step. Hope this helps.
Q: Best product for a lip augmentation for thin lips? How long does it last and is the process painful?
If you are new to filler and have thin lips I would recommending trying a " lip flip" as a starting point. A lip flip is a technique that injects a neuromodulator like Botox or Nuceiva into the upper or lower lip to evert the lip making it appear larger. This is great for young patients and also in a mature lip with the added bonus of helping with any unwanted upper lip "smokers" lines. It typical only takes 4 units to achieve a result on upper lip which is equivalent to $44 dollars. This result should last 4 months. (example photos in my bio) If you want to proceed with lip filler in thin lips I would definately recommend two appointments 2 weeks apart to slowly build up and expand the lip. I would recommend a soft lip filler like the teosyal RH2 or RH3 line. If too much filler or too stiff a filler is injected into thin lips the product can become too heavy and the lip can evert or turn in on itself. So rule of thumb use a soft filler and inject over two sessions two weeks apart. Good luck with your transformation!
