If patients maintain their weight after liposuction fat should not recur in an area that's been previously treated. If there is surplus fat repeat liposuction can be perform. It's a bit more difficult because of scar tissue.

Liposuction can safely be done in the same area. If the first result was smooth, then any repeat liposuction should also be smooth. Sometimes the expectations have to be changed, as there is more scar tissue which may prevent removal of the same amount of fat that was removed initially
