If sculptra help build your own collagens; does that means its permanent?

Obviously nothing is permanent as we’re aging every second. But what I meant, dose it act the same as the other fillers, where it get dissolve out your body over matter of times. Or dose the collagens that were build due to sculptra, acted like your natural collagens and we’ll lose it the same way as the natural collagens? How isn’t that sculptra only last a year if it’s really your own collagen. That just seems too fast

Sculptra is an injectable product that fits into the category of injectable facial fillers, but is very unique. Sculptra is made of Poly-L-Lactic Acid and is injected into the deep tissues of the face in order to provide or restore volume.  While most other fillers work by being suspended in a substance that takes the body many months or years to break down, Sculptra is unique in that it relies on the body to create its own collagen in response to the injected material. The body actually breaks down the injected product, but then restores or creates its own natural volume through natural collagen production pathways. If Sculptra is used over several sessions, results can last for several years, but eventually the body remodels the tissue and breaks down the generated collagen through its own natural cell turnover processes. The aging process also continues, which results in decreased volume over time as well.All the best,

Thanks for your question. Sculptra contains a different active ingredient from other fillers. While most products feature hyaluronic acid, Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid which functions in a different manner. Instead of providing immediate support to the dermal structure, Sculptra initiates collagen production by the body for results that are long-lasting and natural. However, the results of Sculptra are not permanent. Why? It is because we lose 1% of more of our collagen per year! This is why patients usually need touch-up sessions every year or two.

Thanks for this question. Sculptra is not like other fillers. Most fillers are made from hyaluronic acid while Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid. Studies with Sculptra demonstrate longer volume restoration than hyaluronic acid fillers. All of these substances (collagen/hyaluronic) are all recycled and turned over in your body and neither approach creates permanent results.

Sculptra is not a filler, but it's also not permanent. It's meant to initiate long-term collagen production and skin tightening. Once it hits the skin, it tells the body to produce collagen, which is why it's a great foundation for fillers like Voluma. Once injected, t takes about 1 to 2 years for that specific area to subside.I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to determine if Sculptra will work for you (and in what combination) to get the results you're looking for. Results from Sculptra are not permanent, but I have seen them last 2-4 years in some people.  Sculptra stimulates build up of tissue, including collagen, but as the Sculptra particles get metabolized over time, this stimulation will stop and the results will fade.
