How many vials are needed for nice results from a Sculptra BBL?

Question

I’m planning on getting this done and the doctor I plan on going to said he recommends 2 vials per side done twice, spacing the appointments 6 weeks apart (8 vials total). When looking at recommendations from other doctors I see some of them saying they recommend around 10 vials per side done twice (around 20 total on average) so I am just wondering if what my doctor recommend sounds like it could give someone noticeable results. I trust the doctor but I’m just nervous of wasting my money.

Hello,I have done several non-surgical BBLs. I usually recommend 5 vials per cheek when doing a BBL. I recommend 3 sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart for the best effects.

Sculptra can be used to improve the shape of the buttocks. Keep in mind, the buttocks need numerous vials of Sculptra over time to build volume, and in some instances the results are subtle and will need to be combined with fat or implants to achieve desired results. In my experience, most patients will require closer to 5 - 10 vials per side per treatment, depending upon things like patient/buttock size, amount of correction needed/desired, tone of tissues/presence of cellulite/need for support, and you would most likely need 2 such treatment sessions to get the desired results from Sculptra injections to the buttocks.  While 2 vials per side won't hurt you, it likely will give you negligible results and probably will not seem worth it to you.  One additional technique that I have found very useful is to add a tightening procedure, like Fractora which I use, when there is also some laxity of the skin of the buttock or cellulite, to get even better results.  To be sure that you get the best outcome, make sure that you have your procedure done by a doctor with experience in the use of Sculptra and in contouring the buttocks as well.

Hi there. Thanks for your question! Two vials per side is pretty conservative, so either you don't need much, or he's probably trying to give you a starting point. I have done from 4-10 vials (2-5 per side) twice on most of my patients. It all depends on where you're starting and where you want to end up!

We've been using Sculptra in our office for over 20 years with absolutely exceptional results and I have never, ever heard of anyone recommending to use 2 vials per side unless the patient is the size of a doll. Your statement makes it absolutely clear to me that your doctor is not a plastic surgeon and probably has no experience in Sculptra BBL. In my experience if someone wants to see a significant Improvement in the shape and roundness of their bottocks they do require at least 10 to 20 vials and sometimes even more treatments that are spaced 8 weeks apart.
