I want to know if getting a breast reduction and lift will be the best route without getting small implants put in. My back neck and everything kills and I want to reduce my cup size to a full c. Will doing a reduction and adding small implants be the most symmetrical option? Or will a lift and reduction be sufficient as well?1
Answer: No implant... Thank you for your question and photos. I’m sure you realize that an examination in person would be required to provide you with a definitive opinion or treatment recommendation, however from your photos you should be able to achieve an excellent outcome from a small reduction but primarily a breast lift that preserves enough tissue to reshape the breast and provide you with the upper pole fullness you desire, along with proper repositioning in of the nipple/areola complex. In my practice it has never made any sense to perform a breast reduction and simultaneous augmentation. We do indeed have to add an implant on occasion for the woman whose overall volume is inadequate to achieve a pretty and full appearing breast (“augmentation ). Thankfully that is not the case for you based on your photos alone. There are many types of breast reduction techniques. The one I have employed for many years includes reshaping of the breast to achieve the desired upper pole fullness that so many women seek. Do your research. Select a board certified plastic surgeon whose results appeal to you based on his or her Before and After gallery, and whose aesthetics seems to align with your own. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Breast reduction In your situation a breast reduction (always includes a lift) would be the best option to improve symmetry and lessen your neck/shoulder/back pain. Always visit with a board certified plastic surgeon and remember that in some circumstances, insurance may cover your procedure. Adding implants would add weight to your breasts and worsen any pain you’re having, so that wouldn’t be recommended. Good luck!

Answer: Reduction / Augmentation Good afternoon! Some surgeons do the reduction and add implants later, some do it at the same time, and some don't recommend implants at all- it really depends on your surgeon's philosophy, your anatomy, etc. However, they can be done together, when judged safe, and the outcome can be very nice. In my own personal practice, I will perform both together if I believe it will not endanger the blood supply to the skin flaps and nipples.

Answer: Exploring options From your photos it appears you would be a good candidate for a breast reduction. This would reduce the breast size and weight as well as raise the position of the nipple. You have enough tissue to achieve a nice result without implants. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.

Answer: Reduction Since you want to be smaller, there is no need to get implants. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing a breast reduction. With implants, more breast tissue would need to be removed, and this may give more numbness. Plus, having an implant always has the risk of another surgery at some point to deal with that implant.

Answer: I'm 5'1 and my cup size is at least a 34dd, is a breast reduction the best route without implants or with? (photos) Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. It does appear that you could improve upon your breast appearance and your neck/back symptoms with a well-designed and executed breast reduction. Hope this helps.
