Is 210cc too small? 11 bwd, 5'7", 122lbs, 32a/aa (photos)

Question

Hello, i'm scheduled for my BA next week and after meeting with the doctor and trying on sizers I have tentatively decided on 210cc smooth round moderate profile (Natrelle). Curious around what cup this would get me to? At first I was worried it would be too big, but now I am worried it will be too small. I am thin with a small frame and not much breast tissue to start with. My goal would be a full B...I don't want a massive change, but also still want them to look round/full.

It is really difficult to answer your question as there is a lot that goes into sizing our patients.  We perform measurements, evaluate the skin envelope elasticity, look at photos, look at diagrams and finally use the Allergan sizing system to size the patient in the office.  We obviously listen and discuss exactly what the patient wants and doesn’t want so that we can deliver the expected results.

It sounds like you may have sized already but if you have any doubts I would recommend you go back and try the sizing again.  You are pretty tall at 5'7" and could carry a bigger implant without it looking TOO big on you.  As far as bra size, I always tell my patients focus on the look not the bra size.  Bra size is too variable and depends on who is sizing you and which manufacturer you are using.  Focus on how the sizing system looks on you during the sizing and make sure to look at a full length mirror.

Cup sizes are not standardized. Therefore, it would be best if you brought a bra in the size you’d like to be and then try on the sizers in 210cc. That way, you can see for yourself if this would be your preferred size.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

It is hard to guess where your cup size will be with certain implants, which is why I like to size. Sizing can be done with a breast implant that matches the implant that will be placed or through computer simulation. You should feel comfortable that the implant chosen has been chosen on the basis of best fit for your chest dimension and fullness goal. If you are concerned you will be going to small, a higher profile implant will create a fuller projection. Since you are small to start, you may want to better evaluate the size difference of a more projected implant through sizing with your plastic surgeon.

An examination in person would be required to properly evaluate you. That said, bra cup size such as “Full B” is unfortunately imprecise and not necessarily predictable. There are variations between manufacturers and between patients.  One important question to answer for yourself and for your surgeon is which “problem” would you rather have within the size range you have selected, on the larger side or in the smaller side? Give your surgeon some latitude such that he or she understands that either 190 or 230 cc might also work for you.  Focus on breast appearance rather than cup size and use photos from your surgeon’s gallery to indicate “favorites”. If you go with slightly smaller, you can always wear a padded bra. If you end up larger than you wished, you will either have to get used to it (which is the most likely scenario), or you would need to have revision surgery to downsize. In my own practice the latter scenario has never presented itself. Best of luck to you.   Being 5’7”” I would lean toward a slightly larger volume and perhaps moderate plus profile.

Implant selection is best done in person.  As you've tried on sample implants and spoken with your surgeon it seems you have narrowed down an implant that seems to fit your body and goals.  The implant you are considering is conservative, but should provide a natural enhancement to a small frame.  I encourage you to return to your surgeon to further discuss any questions you have.  It's important you are comfortable and confident in your surgical plan.

Hello and thank you for your questions and post. Be sure you see an experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for the best outcome and results. Generally, I have found that for each 125-150cc of implant volume, you would go up a size, but each patient is different and there are several factors to consider some of which you mentioned. Consultations are an important time to ask questions, show photos of your desired result, communicate this with your surgeon, learn about the procedure and aftercare, and with the consultation should be a review and discussion about several things including incision location, implant placement, implant size, shape, type as well as the expected recovery period.

Every lady has her idea of what "round" is. I would suggest going back to your surgeon and trying on a few larger sizes, up to 250, to see what you like.

Good day,As for the 1st step in your breast augmentation as a plastic surgeon, I have to know how much volume you have in your breast, 2 details here, I always ask for your actual cup size and 2nd I measure your breast with breast sizers to know the exact volume.
This is because most women don't wear their bra as "the fabric wants" because they are comfortable with a bigger/smaller size and every cup size has a volumen.
ExampleCup A 150 mlB 300C 450D 600
So, this is the starting point to know what cup size you are and after knowing this (i.e. you are a cup A so you have 150 ml and you want to be a B cup we need at least 150 ml to get you there by just doing the maths)
If your doctor did to you a pinch test and you got more than 2 cm (we measure with a special tool) of tissue in your breast that can protect the implant by covering it you can have a breast augmentation above your pectoralis muscle, if you got less than 2cm of tissue I really recommend you to have a submuscular breast augmentation (or a dual plane breast augmentation for a natural look)
I can see from your pictures, and I think you are a cup A so you can wear the bra-sizer with the special implants with the volume you chose and see If that volume really fits your body, these sizers for this bra have volume from a range of 120 ml to 450 ml, you have plenty of choices.
