Bump on bridge of nose- 4 weeks post op. Any suggestions? (photos)

Thank you for your question.I wouldn't be too worried about it at this point.  At the 4 week mark there are often small irregularities as portions of the rhinoplasty heal.  There could be localized swelling or localized scar tissue that will eventually settle down. Bone can also cause small irregularities which usually resolve when the bone is finally healed.If the bump persists as your healing continues, I would talk with your surgeon about options.  If the bump is from scar tissue or localized swelling, you may be a candidate for a small injection of a steroid.  If the bump is from an irregularity in the bone, smoothing this out is pretty straightforward.  Good luck!

Four weeks after rhinoplasty is common to have some imperfections of the nasal dorsum. Healing of the lowered nasal bones is often accompanied by a callous formation that may take months to totally resolve.

I would not worry. 1.  As your bone cuts heal ( osteotomies), little callus ( bony spurs) can grow. They almost always settle on their own. 2.  If it doesn't, they can be taken down in office with ease.3. If it's soft tissue swelling a little steroid injection can be used soon to help bring down swelling. 

Small imperfections after rhinoplasty can be easily camouflaged with the use of fillers around the area. If up small bump is happening from a protruding bone and cartilage he can be easily shaved down and a small procedure without a full revision rhinoplasty.RegardsDr. J

4 weeks is too soon to make any definitive judgment on your outcome.  I would suggest discussing this with your surgeon.

It is best to direct post-operative concerns to the surgeon who performed your procedure. However, keep in mind that swelling post-Rhinoplasty can last up to one year.

4 weeks is relatively early to worry about a final result, but depending on what was done, this might be a part of the nasal bones.  Be sure to discuss with your own surgeon about how this applies to you, and whether they have any special concerns in your case.

As the nose heals, irregularities may be palpable. As the bones ossify, often this improves. Best to give it time and re-evaluate over time.

If at 4 months post still seeing the 'bump' than consider revision surgery............................
