I have been said that I'm a candidate for a chin implant and a sliding genioplasty, to increase my vertical length, as I feel that would balance my prominent mid face. As I already have a small nose, will I be needing a rhinoplasty after vertical lengthening of my face for a better profile?
Answer: How to make a small round face look longer? #profile #genioplasty Thank you for your question! It appears that you have a slight recession to your chin. I would first want to make sure your occlusion is appropriate as this may be a reason to vision with an orthognathic surgeon. Having an overbite may be affected with a recessed chin in some circumstances. If it's ok, then you have options. First, you can undergo a sliding genioplasty where the bone to your chin gets cut and then reoriented to elongate the lower third of your face and improve the projection of the chin or you can undergo a chin implant that probably would accomplish the same. I would discuss this with a board certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in your area. With regard to your nose, it's difficult to assess the shape and balance of your face without additional views. You may or may not need to undergo a rhinoplasty and that would be what your surgeon would help to educate you on. Hope this helps!!

Answer: Yes After addressing your chin, I think a nasal lengthening and de-rotating procedure will leave you with a more attractive nose and a more harmonious face.

Answer: Chin implant candidate The photographs demonstrate a significant weak chin profile, for which a chin implant can help augment, especially with respect to the projection of the maxilla. Chin implants are manufactured in a variety of sizes and shapes, are composed of Silastic, and can be inserted under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. For many examples and more information, please see the link and the video below

Answer: I have a small face, with a prominent mid face and I need advice to balance my profile with a more longer oval face. Hi, based on the photo your chin is very weak causing an imbalance between the mid and lower face. A weak chin makes the nose appear larger and the mid face look top heavy. Chin augmentation, using a chin implant, will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have performed many chin implant surgeries over the past 30 years and find them to be very safe, quick (when placed through a small curved incision under the chin) and highly effective.

Answer: need advice to balance my profile On viewing your profile pictures, it appears that a simple chin implant, is all that is needed. You don't appear to need lengthing of the face. You should not need a rhinoplasty, based on what I see.
