This is my second rhinoplasty and I just wanted to correct some things. Make the tip more "refined" but I specifically said I did NOT want a pig looking nose. And my nose is REALLY upturned! Did he go too far? He said he gave me a natural result which I don't agree with at all. What are you options to correct this? I am really self conscious about this.
Answer: Too soon Hello. I'm sorry you are going through this. Your nose does look a bit over-rotated, but some of this may be swelling. Unfortunately you are going to have to wait until a few months go by to really be able to evaluate the result. Once that time has passed, if you are unhappy with the result I would bring your concerns up to your surgeon or another local rhinoplasty expert. Best of luck!

Answer: Over-rotation Even though you have a fair amount of swelling at this time, your nose does look a little over-rotated. You need to wait several months for the swelling to go down before drawing conclusions. If your nose needs future revision there are techniques that can de-rotate the nasal tip (extended spreader grafts, caudal septal extension grafts). Be sure to consult with a rhinoplasty surgeon experienced in revision rhinoplasty. Good luck!

Answer: Significant swelling shortly after a secondary rhinoplasty. There is an extraordinary amount of bruising after your rhinoplasty suggesting similar swelling. The angle between the lip in the nose appears open but this can be a product of the swelling. It's too early to be making a judgment about the final outcome.

Answer: Rhinoplasty tip Thank you for your question! Your pictures show a very early postoperative result. It will take several months for the swelling to subside and the final result to be seen. Please be patient and withhold judgement for now. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon. He/she may be able to reassure you and give you the emotional support that you need during this time. Best of luck! Report back and let us know how things look in several months!

Answer: Upturned nose Your enthusiasm to have this secondary surgery is noted, and your anticipation of achieving a final improved look is shared by all of us in this forum. The doctor perhaps used special measures to provide a more defined tip look and hold it there. At first it can appear high and projecting, but may come down considerably over weeks to months. Stay with your doctor and be patient. Noses take the longest of any surgery to come to their final resting place particularly after a revision. The key principle in rhinoplasty is creating what is sought and holding it there in position. The nose reconstructed with support beams, struts, and sutures used to accomplish a revision often retain more swelling then for the nose just simply reduced or similarly treated in a first intervention.
