The cream will not work. Steroids are complex medicines that need a specialist nose surgeon to use safely. They have risks and benefits. I use steroids in some case when needed. However there are risks with steroids. So often I hear patients say "I've read on the internet that steroids can reduce swelling" I have to explain that nose swelling has many causes and it's not that simple. You will need specialist advice. Most swelling gets better by itself in time - 6 to 12 months.
I dont believe so, i would ice without holding pressure, And also ask the doctor who did the surgery if they suggest anything.
Most of the swelling that occurs after rhinoplasty takes place under the surface of the skin and a topical medication would not reach down far enough to have an effect. Sometimes a steroid is injected into the nose to help with swelling after rhinoplasty however.
No, steroid creams will not reduce the swelling after RhinoplastyYour Plastic Surgeon will use steroids to reduce swelling either as injections or tablets. It is best not to self prescribe and self medicate with steroidsAll the best
Hi,there is no evidence for topical steroids to reduce swelling after rhinoplasty!best wishesMr J Taher
Swelling after rhinoplasty mainly occurs between the skin and the deeper cartilage. Steroid cream is generally confined to the skin and does not penetrate into the deeper part of the nose, where the swelling occurs. For this reason, steroid cream should not really change swelling after rhinoplasty. Oral steroids work much better then topical steroids for reduction of swelling after rhinoplasty.
wearing pressure strips or plastic splints will helpinjections of steroid will helpsteroid creams will NOT affect swelling after any surgery, in my opinion.

This generally would not be considered normal. It would be best to contact your surgeon now and ask to be seen.
