Can I hide a mini lift from my roommate?

Thank you for the question. This will be difficult to do... unless the surgery is extremely minimal, there will be some bruising and swelling that will be tough to hide for a few days.

a mini facelift with muscle tightening will cause significant bruising and swelling.  It will be difficult to hide it from someone for at least a week.

It will be very difficult to hide the fact you had a mini facelift from your roommate.  You will likely have swelling, bruising, and wearing a compression dressing.  Unless you completely avoid your roommate, it will be hard to hide.  I hope this helps.

have a #facelift, well placed incisions which are well planned and hidden, along

Limited scar incision and proper care after
sugery help. Topical scar creams and laser as needed can all help create
incisions that are hard to see.

You will have dressings and drains for at least 24 hours and then a compression garment after that.  It would be hard to hide all of this from your roomate. 

If you swelled a lot from a thread lift then you will swell much more from a mini lift. If you want to keep it a secret, maybe best to do it over a vacation. We have many patients that fly in just for that reason: anonymity.See below link for more details.#litelift#minifacelift

There is no shame in getting cosmetic surgery! While a Mini-Facelift is less invasive and has a quicker recovery than a full facelift, you will still be swollen and bruised for a few days. I recommend that either you spend a few days with a friend postop, or find an inexpensive hotel, because your roommates will figure it out. Good luck!

I think that a mini facelift will be hard to conceal to your roommate. You will also need help with the after care and some of the local care. I would suggest that your ask help from your roommate for some of those activities.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz

Thank you for your question.  Yes, you could probably hide this from a roommate but I would highly recommend you having a trusted family member of friend around to care for you at least for the first 48 hours.  You will need help driving home from the surgery center and may need help the first few days with activities of daily living.  Best wishes!Steven Camp MD#HappyCamperMD 

Dear Tarije,If you have long hair, you can definitely hide the mini-lift scar. For bruising, the appropriate make up or foundation will camouflage it. Swelling is more challenging. Diligent icing will decrease swelling, but it will probably still be noticeable. Often swelling from a mini facelift can be similar to that of having several wisdom teeth removed.
