I would suggest you wait until after your pregnancy.  You will inevitably gain weight during your pregnancy.  Following your delivery your desires for weight loss may effect your results.  My suggestion would be to get in the best post pregnancy shape you can and then move forward with your procedure.  Good Luck!

Hi Zoe,I would recommending waiting until after pregnancy. The weight changes with pregnancy can affect your face also. Having a stable weight will help you get the post-face lift result to last the longest. Facelifts are permanent. In many ways it is like setting the clock back. You get a fresh start, but your face continues to age. Taking good care of your skin, avoiding smoke exposure and controlling your weight will help you enjoy the results from your facelift the longest without having to consider a revision or touch up. ZoeBT, in general after you pregnancy you are going to be quite busy but to the contrary you may have a bit of extra aging from the swelling that can occur occasionally with pregnancy. So if you can find the time I would wait. Just see a facial plastic specialist with years of experience; do yourself a favor and choose a specialist!

A mini facelift has many definitions depending on which surgeon you see.  In general, you need to do a more significant type of lift in younger patients to get a good improvement.  Lesser lifts tend not to do much but leave signs of surgery like scars.  The technique I use most often for mini and regular lifts regardless of pregnancy or weight loss is a modified extended deep plane lift.  This moves the fat pads of the cheek with it and does not depend on weight changes like other lifts do 

If you plan of becoming pregnant within the next year, it probably makes more sense for you to wait.  If you have "jowls" this is sagging
facial tissues and an indication for some form of a facelift.  The underlying SMAS layer, of the face, must
be dissected, lifted, trimmed and re-sutured. The excess skin is then
removed and the facelift incisions closed.
