I got my lip filled with restalyn (plus the pain killer in the restalyn) 3 days ago. I used a full vial because everytime I put half in the past after the swelling went down I would see no difference. My lips looked too big right away, I was told it was swelling and that it would go down. Now it's 72 hours later and even tho the swelling is going down it's still too big. I have some peeling and green bruising in the inside of my lips. is that normal? Will it still go down more?
Answer: No photo. Makes it hard to be specific. Clearly you bruised. That means you need to be patient and let this settle. At only 3 days, you should not be too alarmed. However, if you are overfilled in a week, that is another matter. Fortunately, Restylane can be adjusted. Please keep us posted.

Answer: May take 2 weeks. Since you've struggled with feeling like 1/2 a syringe is small, I would suggest waiting two weeks before making a decision on whether to dissolve some of the Restylane. Follow up with your injector and prepare better next time.

Answer: Swelling, bruising, peeling after lip augmentation with fillers (restylane, juvederm, volbella) This is tough to answer without pictures. Swelling, even some bruising and peeling can be normal after lip injections and will resolve in 1-2 weeks. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. I recommend injections with cannulas to reduce the risk of bruising. Answer: Lips are too big and peeling after restylane? Thanks for your question and as always we recommend that these injections be given in the offices of board certified dermatologists or plastic surgeons as we are the true experts in filler injections. Swelling, as you know, does occur and is not uncommon after lip injections. You need to wait for 2 weeks to see what the outcome is going to be and then if they are still too big, your provider can inject some hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler. The peeling as mentioned can accompany this so that is not a concern at this point. If there is any pain or discomfort, you should see your provider sooner than later and let that be looked at. I think if you wait a little longer, you will be perfectly happy.

Answer: Swelling Following Lip Injections Lips tend to swell much more than other areas and swelling could last up to one week with the majority of swelling typically resolving within 2-3 days. Bruising is normal and peeling is as well - this is something that often happens following inflammation. Your description is not a cause for concern medically and if you were my patient I would advise you to give it a week to see if it settles to a point you are pleased with, especially since you have felt under-treated in the past. If after one week you feel they are still too big, re-visit your injector and discuss your options. Hyaluronic acid filler (Restylane is one) can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase if necessary.
