Certainly, losing weight and losing fat volume from the face could make the tear trough filler appear more noticeable. Significant weight loss would be more than 20 pounds so a small periodic weight fluctuation less than 10 pound is unlikely to affect your injection results.Best of luck, Dr. Aldo
This is tough to answer because it's hypothetical. Weight loss is usually gradual, so it shouldn't greatly impact the look of HA filler (restylane) used in the tear troughs. I do recommend using cannulas to this area to avoid complications. I recommend getting a formal consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you so much for your question. If you have a small amount of weight loss, then it is not likely there would be a significant change in your appearance. However, a larger amount of weight loss may result in a hollowing of the under eye area and possible benefit of more Restylane placement. If you want to lose weight, do so, and then return to your physician for an assessment. Good Luck!

It depends on what you call significant. 4 pounds will make a little difference in the overall look of the face and 8 pounds will produce noticeable difference. if you are talking about 10-20 pounds it is possible that the tear troughs will look more significant
Thanks for your question and we always recommend that you have a consultation with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to learn the best options for you here. Restylane, when used properly, can give great results in the tear trough area. With a great deal of weight loss, there can be changes in the face, which may, in fact, make the tear troughs more pronounced. So you may need a touch up at some point if there is a concern – but these changes should be subtle and minimal and again, with the help of the right provider, you should not have any concerns proceeding on having things corrected.
Hi @thatdude107! Tear trough fillers typically last 9-12 months. I recommend seeking treatments from expert injectors who have the skill and experience to precisely inject fillers into treatment areas and avoid risks and complications. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Hi @Krismi! Swelling can take 1-2 weeks to subside. I would recommend icing the lips. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Hi @rosiejean. There is a possibility that not enough Hyaluronidase was injected. It can take more than 1 treatment to fully dissolve filler. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
