Is it worth it to get a revision? (Photo)

Question

So I am 14 months post op the right breast hasn't dropped as much the left my surgeon said he can release the breast fold to get the implant to fill out the pocket more however I'm torn on if I should go through with another surgery?! My main concern was capsular contracture which was not the case. The breast is also soft. Thank you for your input!

The asymmetry is apparent in your photograph. At 14 months, it is unlikely that this will correct on its own. The need for a revision is purely aesthetic so it is a personal decision as to whether the asymmetry bothers you enough to have additional surgery. For what it's worth, my personal opinion would be to proceed with the revision.

You have capsular contracture, and it's worth fixing, but not by a surgeon who uses periareolar incisions. The use of that incision places the patient at highest risk for this problem because of the high risk of implant contamination with bacteria forming a biofilm, which leads to excess inflammation. An inframammary incision and total capsulectomy is necessary to fix this problem with the lowest recurrence rate.

I would suggest letting your surgeon lower the breast to a better position. Wearing bathing suits and being in the nude will show the difference. also, I do not recommend wearing a push up bra for the opposite site with implants.

Dear Diligent,
The settling of breast implants after breast augmentation is usually completed in 6-12 months.  There are occasions when it takes longer than that, so you could wait it out a bit if the thought of another surgery concerns you.  In that case, seek guidance from your PS in terms of applying upper breast pole pressure to promote the descent.  A repositioning of your implant surgically, although it is surgery, would likely be a relatively minor one.  Good luck!

Unfortunately, you only posted one photo of an after view without a before view of your breast. If you’re a cemetery was previously noted the result is very acceptable and in my opinion, the risk for outweigh the benefits of revisional surgery. Best to review via virtual consultation.
