Could I have gone high profile? (Photo)

Question

I am 5'2 130lbs .... I have a 13.5 breast wide. According to my doctor these were the right fit for me. However they are moderate profile. These are 425 cc moderate( the max I could go based on BW) ... I wanted HP but according to the chart for the Same max BW it was putting me at 512cc which the doctor thought it would have been too big. See pictures; do you think I could have gone high profile. It's been bothering me for months!!! Or was my PS right with the choice of moderate? See pictures

Picking the volume and profile of breast implants involves art as well as science. This is why you may have varying opinions on what would be the best implant for you.  Remember though, that your surgeon has had years of training and practice, and it is not realistic to believe that you can make a better selection than he or she. Trust that your surgeon made the best choice for you and enjoy your new breasts, rather than searching to see if it could have been better.

implant profile is a very important consideration. Many patients wrongly assume that the higher the profile the better. The truth is, the more profile (or projection/height) and implant has, the narrower its base has to become. This has several problematic consequences. The first is that the patient loses width and therefor cleavage of the breast. The second is the breast becomes more narrow and pendulous, often falling lateral and onto the side of the chest, and third, high profile implants have a higher risk of bottoming out because they exert more pressure on the inframammary fold than moderate profile implants. High profile implants do have a role in symmastia repair (when I need to narrow the basewidth) but otherwise I try to avoid them.

When the implant diameter is wider than your chest,  you may have too much cleavage or "side-boob"

First of all ignore the bwd measurement. It is meaningless. Yes you could have gone high profile but your result would not have been much different than it already is. It’s a good result

Your implants are crammed together now so please do not go larger. A higher profile with your current size would have a more narrow base which might fit better. Going larger with a higher profile will not fit well.

Based on your nicely posted photos, I agree the high profile was an option. But to go through an exchange of implant is another surgical procedure with possible complications. Best to consider doing virtual consultations. Expect fees to range from $6000-$10,000.

To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures.
If you don’t have before and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took.
They are part of your medical record, which you can request a copy of at any time.
 Quality breast augmentation surgery is based on three variables.
The first is the patient’s candidacy for the procedure. The second is the selection of implants in regards to shape size and type. The third variable is the surgeons ability to place the implants in the correct anatomic location. this includes the decision of placing the implants above or below the pectoralis muscle.
 to answer your question better it would be helpful to not only know what you look like before surgery but also to get an understanding of what you don’t like or what you’re hoping to achieve.
Generally speaking selecting excessively large implants as a high incidence of side effects, complications and increases the need for revision surgery.
Generally speaking, I try to stay away from high profile implants unless the patient has a limited breast diameter, and once a certain size augmentation.
Unless you have to use high profile implants, it’s better not to.
It seems to me that your breast sit slightly wide on your chest while and your nipples are divergence.
I think your surgeon compensated by placing the implants more mediately than where your breast actually sits and this created a certain look.
In other words, your implants are not centered to each breast, but are placed Where your surgeon thought your breast should sit not where they actually do.
Understanding your own candidacy, for the procedure is an important part of maintaining high patient satisfaction.
Patients who are not ideal candidates, should be told this during in person consultations well in advance of surgery.
This includes variables like breast asymmetry, undesirable breast position on the chest wall, breast droopiness, and breast divergence
