Aveli and anesthesia

Hello and thank your for your question! Prior to the Aveli procedure, a local anesthetic injection is used in the area to ensure a painless treatment. The injection itself has some discomfort but only last momentarily. Therefore you should not feel any pain during the actual procedure.

HI there. I understand your concern. Aveli is typically done by first administering a generous amount of local pain medication into the area. The injection of this medication may cause a bit of "pinchy" or burning sensation initially, but after adequate time to set in, the rest of the procedure is done with very little discomfort. For patients that are especially nervous about the procedure, our office does offer some oral sedation (which does require a driver to take you home) or inhaled nitrous oxide on request. Aveli is a great option to permenantly treat dimpling from cellulite. I encourage you to seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon to see if you are a good candidate for the proceudure. Aveli is a minimally, invasive procedure that corrects cellulite by dividing the small ligaments that hold the skin down, causing contour irregularities. The incision is around 2mm and the area is well anesthetized. The procedure is very well tolerated with minimal to no discomfort, mild bruising and an almost immediate return to daily activities.

Pain control is essential for any medical procedure. Aveli is usually done with local anesthesia. In our experience with Aveli there is only a very mild discomfort when using local anesthesia. We generally don't use any other medications. However, for some patients like yourself who may have more anxiety about the procedure or increased pain sensitivity, we offer the option for oral sedation and Nitrous Oxide and possible other medications to ensure they are comfortable and have a successful procedure. I recommend you speak to the surgeon who you are considering and share your concern and ask how he or she will address them.

Thank you for the question. We place a numbing fluid under the skin to take away any discomfort before the procedure. It also helps with bruising but you will have some bruises. Lymphatic massages help pot procedure. The procedure usually gives a permanent result. Hope this helps. JB

Aveli procedures can be performed in the OR under general anesthesia or as an in office procedure using numbing. Some discomfort can expected during an in office procedure as you are awake but numb. I would suggest booking an aveli consult to see if you're a candidate for the procedure and receive more information about the procedure.

The Aveli treatment is done with local anesthesia, so you will have very minimal pain and discomfort. If you are anxious, you can take an anti-anxiety pill to help you relax (ie Xanax). Once the local anesthesia is administered, you should not feel sharp pain, but you may feel some pressure, pushing, pulling and tugging - that is normal. Hope this helps!

You have the option to have twilight anesthesia if you would like. In our office we routinely do Aveli awake with local anesthesia and pronox. If the patient has a ride home, they can also take oral pain medication and muscle relaxant.

Aveli is a promising treatment option for localized cellulite.Most practitioners will administer local anesthesia (dilute lidocaine + epinephrine) solution to the area after it has been marked. This usually gets the job done.I perform Aveli either as an isolated procedure under local anesthesia, or combined with liposuction +/- fat transfer, either under local or general anesthesia.

Yes you will receive local anesthesia for your Aveli treatment to keep you comfortable during the procedure. For those who need something extra we can consider adding ProNox or some oral medication to help calm your nerves a bit.
