I am 48 years old and know that I look much older due to my sagging jowls and loose neck skin (not awful, but bothersome to me). I look tired, sad, and well into my 50s. Am I ready for a lower facelift or a neck lift? Bets to wait a few years? Have also considered a rhinoplasty.
Answer: Face and neck lifting In your case, consider that you are a candidate for a face and neck lift, your cheeks are already presenting saggig, jowls. Fixing only your neck and having a better mandibular contour, the sagging at the level of the face will be more evident. The youngest patient we have performed a facelift is 36 years old with excellent changes. Lower lift and neck lift only work in your neck but not in your face

Answer: Facelift and nec lift Thank you for your question and photographs. The characteristics of the neck and contour of the corners of the mouth suggested that the best approach would be a combination of facelift and neck lift. This is because the facelift on its own does not correct well the platysma muscle bands and if you wish to have a deep plane neck lift to address also visibility of the submandibular glands this is typically carried out as part of the neck lift. The neck lift however does not contour well deeper labio-mandibular lines (marionette lines and does not change the direction of the corner of the mouth. As a result, in a situation like yours in general the best outcomes are achieved by a combination of facelift and neck lift possibly deep plane technique for both.

Answer: Facelift candidate for surgery HI, and thank you for the pictures. Yes you are a surgical candidate for a facelift and some kind of volume enhancement, which I routinely perform with a facial fat transfer. Two things that occur as we age are facial volume loss and and loosening of the overlying skin and muscles. A facelift will address the looseness of the overlying skin and muscles and the the facial volume loss will be addressed by the facial fat transfer. As to your exact question, 'am i ready', we can only answer if you are a good candidate, and yes, you are a candidate, however, only you can decide when you are ready.

Answer: Timing For a Facelift Thank your for the great and frequently asked question. Timing for a facelift is based on a patient's favorable general health, presence of aging indications, and desire to definitively address these changes. In my 21 years of practice, I have performed facelifts on patients who were in their late 40's/early 50's whose criteria matched those described above. The benefit of doing so at your age is that the skin integrity and elasticity allows for a great result. The photos show show aging changes in the lower face and neck that a properly performed deep plane facelift will address. The key to proceeding is finding the right Surgeon who specialize in facelift surgery and reaching the conclusion that you are ready.

Answer: Am I ready for a necklift/lower facelift? In person exam is essential. Based on limited photos- it appears that you would benefit from a facelift/ neck lift with muscle tightening. In the right hands - you can expect a rejuvenated look, tighter and well defined neck and jaw line. I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS
