I'm planning to have a mommy makeover 2018. I've also decided that I will not be having the surgery with any of the doctors in my home town. Most likely I will be traveling via plane to an out side state other than my home town or Dominican Republic. So my question is, do you sign the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) forms from the patients job which will allows them to be off while they heal after a major surgery?. I know that a procedure such as that requires you to be off for a period of time.

Answer: FMLA The forms have portions for you to complete, your physician to complete, and your company to complete. You will need to contact your human resources department to get the forms and review the policies for turning them in. I do not recommend that you travel far from your home for surgery. Follow up is an important part of your success. If you do choose to proceed with this plan, make arrangements PRIOR to your surgery with a surgeon in your area who will assume your care upon your return. If you should encounter any complications you may find it difficult to find someone to help you.
