Iam getting a Breast augmentation in 3 Days. I got a yeast infection Yesterday and took a fluconazole right away. I am also doing Monistat cream before bed. Call nsidering taking another diflucan before surgery, really dont want to reschedule my surgery unless i really have to. Its improved but i still feel its not 100% cleared. Does having a yeast infection compromise breast augmentation?

Answer: Yeast infection before surgery Any type of infection present prior to breast augmentation is of concern. Much attention is given to prevention of infection when placing implants, because if an implant becomes infected , removal is required to resolve the infection. In your case that risk is probably quite low, but would be of concern to many surgeons. Inform your surgeon of the problem and follow their guidance.

Answer: Reaction No, this should not result in any type of reaction. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).Best,Dr. DesaiBeverly Hills Institute for Aesthetic Plastic SurgeryHarvard Educated, Beverly Hills & Miami Beach TrainedDouble Board-Certified, Double Fellowship-Trained Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon

Answer: No active infection is best before breast aug Personally, I prefer my patients are completely infection free at the time of a breast augmentation, or any surgery where an implant is being placed. I think it is the safest way to go. I understand it may be an inconvenience to reschedule your surgery. This is really a question for your own surgeon, however, since every surgeon has her/his own protocols around the time of surgery.

Answer: Diflucan and breast surgery It should be okay, but always check with both the surgeon and anesthesiologist about it. They definitely need to be aware of it or any other medicine you are on.
