Drainage after breast augmentation, should I be concerned about non-stop fluid coming out? (Photos)

You should see a board certified plastic surgeon to be evaluated asap. They can examine you and discuss options to try to salvage your implant.

You did not mention when you had your surgery, or if you are having other signs or symtoms such pain, fever, or increased swelling. Any drainage that persists after surgery is of concern, and should be evaluated by your surgeon. If fluid can come out, bacteria can go in. An infection around an implant usually results in removal of the implant. 

Hi, it is not normal to have drainage after a breast augmentation, if infection is rising you should contact your surgeon for urgent antibiotics. Less likely can be suture reaction or suture extrusion. This has to be inmediatly seen be a certified plastic surgeon. Best Regards!

This is very concerning and a fairly urgent matter.  It appears that part of the incision is not healing, and infection risk is fairly significant.  There could be several reasons for this, and you need to be assessed urgently by a board certified plastic surgeon whom you trust.  I would start by contacting the surgeon who did your surgery, but also search more locally near where you live, as Miami appears to be a 5 hour drive for you.  If your implant does get infected and if you start feeling sick, do not get on the road for a long trip; go to the nearest emergency room instead.  Best of luck

Thank you for posting your question and images online.  While it is normal to have a small amount of drainage after a breast augmentation in the immediate period, constant flow is concerning for an ongoing infection, seroma, or difficulty healing.  My advice to you would be to seek out a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area who can provide you with ongoing care until this issue is resolved.

I would definitely agree with the other physician comments below. There should be no drainage after a primary breast augmentation surgery. This could be a superficial wound that just needs to be drained, or could be a much more serious problem within the pocket around the implant. If you can’t get any information from your surgeon, you should definitely see someone close to you in your community as soon as possible. 

I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem. It is a big deal that needs to be addressed immediately.Call your surgeon to be seen. Antibiotics are likely needed along with other evaluation and perhaps surgery.You paid for surgery and the follow up care. If you find a local surgeon to care for you it will likely be about 1/2 of the full surgery fee and additional fees for surgery if needed. It will be worth it to drive to Miami.Good luck I wish you well.
