Weird smile after fillers: Juvederm Ultra in my nasolabial lines and 1ml of Juvederm Volift in lips. (Photos)

Question

So, I've had 1ml of Juviderm Ultra in my nasolabial lines and 1ml of Juviderm Volift in my lips 23 days ago. I wanted to soften my nasolabial lines, and to improve the shape of my lips just a little bit. Lips turned out very good, subtile and natural looking. But im concerned with my nasolabials, because when I smile, I have two new lines, that look a little bit odd, and weren't there before. Am I stuck with this weird smile lines? What do you think?

This is most likely due to the placement of filler in the nasolabial folds. I recommend a combination approach for this area to get the most improvement. I recommend fillers for the folds themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, rf treatments, J Plasma and peels to get the most conservative natural look. Please see a facial sculpting expert. I appreciate your concern. If it has been less than 2 to 3 weeks then wait for the swelling to get better. If you're pretty far out from the time of injection then consider seeing your injector. You could dissolve the product or get a touch up. See what they recommend!Best wishes. Dr. ALDO

You may want to discuss possibly dissolving the filler in that area with a product called hyaluronidase. I would talk it over with the provider who performed the injection. Good luck.

The swelling should be resolved at this point after treatment.  I recommend returning to your injector for an evaluation.  You can try to touch up with filler to smooth out the area more, or do the opposite and dissolve the filler that  is causing the lines around the mouth.  An examination should help with which is most advisable.
