Puffy eyes after cheek filler - 5 weeks after the treatment.

I recommend following up with your injector. If necessary, the filler can be reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps. 

I do use Juvederm quite frequently in my practice. as well as fat. I have to say that if its making you feel so uncomfortable then its best to have this dissolved. ASAP! there is a chance that the filler placement is causing problems with venous return of the mid face and that can lead to the swollen look you're describing. 

This is difficult to answer without before and after pictures. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Juvederm is not a good filler for the eyelid.  If it is kept strictly in the outer cheek then you would be ok. But if some is also put into the lower lid or tear trough it can result in long term edema.  You need to have some hyaluronidase injected into the lid to remove the filler.  

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing after your Juvederm treatment.  I recommend returning to your injector for an evaluation.  If desired the product can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.

Thank you for your question. It can be common to have some chronic swelling with Juvederm when placed near the eyes. If there is additional pain or redness, then you should see your injector to ensure that you do not have a super-infection or anything else going on. If it continues to bother you you may want to consider getting your filler dissolved. This can be easily achieved with any hyaluronidase. Best of luck! 

Thanks for your question and sorry that you are having this concern this far out after your procedure.  It could because of improper placement of the filler or just too much filler being injected. You should go back to your provider and have hyaluronidase injected into the areas to dissolve the filler in that area.  Good luck.

It sounds like your injector came too close to the lower eyelid area with Juvederm. In my opinion no hyaluronic acid fillers should NOT be injected into the lower eyelid area. Only fat should be injected into the lower eyelid as it provides a natural and long-lasting, if not permanent result. Juvederm is not the right filler for the eye area. It retains too much water and leads to chronic edema. It needs to be removed with hyaluronidase. The filler of choice for me is Restylane in this area.
