Full mommy makeover candidate? Can fibroid removal be done simultaneously? (Photo)

I had a baby 13 weeks ago. I'm 5'7 and 120lbs. Prior to pregnancy I had abs, perkier breasts, and no saddlebags. Now 3-months postpartum I have no volume in my breasts, saddlebags, and a wrinkly ballooned midsection that's discolored. I also have a series of fibroids that need removal. Am I a candidate for a mommy makeover (with mini tuck). Are there less invasive procedures/things to consider that may reverse these issues? Can you combine laparoscopic myomectomy with a mommy makeover?

The answer is most likely yes!  However, because you'll most likely need a full tummy tuck you won't need the laparoscopic myomectomy as the gyn will have full access to the abdomen during the tummy tuck portion.  A mommy makeover appears to be exactly what you need to rejuvenate your breasts and contour your mid-section.  Many plastic surgeons work with ob/gyns at the hospital to combine surgeries in a safe, comfortable setting.  Even more, combining procedures will save you recovery time and money as insurance will most likely cover a good portion of the facility and anesthesia costs.

Thank you for sharing your question and photos.  First, congratulations on your baby!  Depending on your desired results, you may be a good candidate for a mommy makeover with a tummy tuck, liposuction, and a breast lift with or without an implant, depending on your desire for volume.  The tummy tuck and liposuction may help to remove unwanted fat and excess skin, giving you a flatter belly by correcting muscle separation, and removing stretch marks from below the belly button.  A breast lift may give your breasts a perkier appearance and place the nipples in a better position on the breast mound.  This may be combined with an implant if additional volume is desired.  It would be recommended to wait until you are done having children before proceeding.  If you are done having children, you may want to address the fibroids prior to your mommy makeover.  I suggest that at this current time, you schedule a virtual consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon.  Best wishes and stay safe!

Thank you for your question. Based on your pictures you are a good candidate for Mommy makeover but a full tummy tuck will be required. Fibroids can be removed simultaneously as long as your Plastic surgeon and Gynaecologist are comfortable with the combined procedures.

Recommend that you address the fibroid issue with your gynecologist prior to scheduling a TT.  
Liposuction, combined with the TT, will allow you to have stubborn fat resistant to exercise and diet removed from unwanted areas.  A TT with muscle tightening will create a flat abdomen and would also provide the benefit of placing your incision along the lower pubic region. The TT also creates a more youthful belly button.  If the waist was smaller at one time, the waist can likely be reduced to those same measurements or smaller provided the muscular and fascial integrity has remained the same. I make the scar as low as possible so that it can be concealed by a bikini.  Most patients need 1 to 2 weeks before returning to a sedentary activities and 6 weeks before strenuous activity.

Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for liposuction, breast augmentation with lift and a full tummy tuck, to give you a nice tight tummy and get rid of the extra skin.
Along with the tummy tuck, liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You improve your waist, back and flanks.
Breast augmentation with the anchor lift. Implants will add to your skin will be a lot, so, you'll totally need a lift  and your breast are already sagging. You may want to consider breast augmentation sub muscular. 
Know that the size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.   
It is important that you communicate to your board-certified plastic surgeon what are expecting, to make certain that your goals are realistic. It's helpful to show pictures of results you'd like, but please keep in mind that these are other people and your body is different from everybody.
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.
l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  I think you are an excellent candidate and depending on the fibroids, you may be able to get both procedures done at the same time.  I would wait at least six months after pregnancy before doing any surgical procedures in order to achieve a more predictable outcome.  Best wishes.

If the fibroids can be removed laparoscopically then do that first.  Laparoscopic procedure requires insufflation, which stretches the abdominal wall and it would not be a good idea to do a tummy tuck at the same time.  After the fibroids are removed, you can have a breast lift and tummy tuck done.  The technique I recommend for your breasts is The Bellesoma Method.  This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.  Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.  At the same time or later, a tummy tuck can be performed.  If you are not planning future pregnancies, I recommend abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement.  The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

it is still to early to consider surgery after pregnancy. Based on your photos, it looks like you would be great candidate for mommy makeover. It will probably be hard to find gynecologist and plastic surgeon willing to work together in order to combine both procedures. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hello!Logistically it is difficult to combine gynecological surgery and plastic surgery - that is the biggest stumbling block. It is safe to combine the myomectomy with tummy tuck and breast augmentation. I think it would be very hard to add in any work on your back if you desire surgery there.  I would recommend you check first with your ob/gyn to see if she/he works in coordination with a plastic surgeon. Best of luck!

Mommy Makeover Surgery is a great way to recover your pre pregnancy body, and carries a high level of patient satisfaction. I tailor each Mommy Makeover procedure to my patients' particular needs. Most include Tummytuck, with or without liposuction to flank and thigh regions and breast lift, with or without implants. It is best to wait at least 6-9 months after your final pregnancy, to allow your body to recover from the pregnancy and allow you to lose as much of the weight gained as possible during that time. If breast feeding, you must wait at least 3-6 months to pass once breast feeding has ceased. The best time to be evaluated for your mommy makeover is after complete recovery from pregnancy. In your particular case, I would recommend having the fibroid surgery first, as this should not be done simultaneously with mommy makeover surgery.  Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.
