I'm an 18 year old male with 100 Lipomas (all under 1 inch) covering my body. What is your advice for removal?

doctor i'm a 18 yr old male and i get embarass with this lipomas i have, i have 100's of them on my body all of them under one inch, if i think about surgical removal it is quite difficult for 100 of them.. i have on my arms, back, thighs, so doctor u advice me what i have to do ?

This is actually fairly common, and while painful, uncomfortable and, potentially, embarrassing there is, are least in general, no significant medical problems associated with these lipomas.Removal is typically accomplished with a small incisions directly over each lipoma, which then typically "pops" out fairly easily.  That being said, with this many I usually recommend some level of sedation or general anesthesia.  While a few (less than 10 or so) can be removed under local anesthesia alone, having deeper anesthesia available facilitates removing this many.I'd suggest a consultation with one or more board-certified plastic surgeons near you to see what your options are.  I'm sorry that you have these but, fortunately, they are not usually dangerous and can be treated in a relatively simple and straight-forward manner.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of RealSelf100

You should see a dermatologist who specializes in surgical dermatology. While lipomas are common and when a person has one they are more likely to develop future lipomas, having hundreds of them on your body at such a young age is concerning, and extremely uncommon.
