Costs for a blepharoplasty are going to vary by region and surgeon. My best advice would be for you to find the board certified plastic surgeons in the Bay area on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons website and then call around for quotes. The cost for upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) will vary depending on some key factors. The first factor is where in the country are you having it done? Some areas don't have near the overhead that other larger cities have. The next point is who is performing the procedure? If it's an ophthalmologist the pricing will be different from that of a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon. The other consideration is if you have the surgery in an office setting under a local anesthesia, you will save on operating room and IV sedation costs. Your doctor will discuss all of these aspects with you and should provide you with written estimates, for any procedure you're considering.
Thank you for sharing your question. There are a variety of factors which contribute to the cost of blepharoplasty. These include specialty of the surgeon, experience, type of anesthesia being used and location of surgeon. Make sure to have an experienced eyelid specialist perform the operation.Good luck,
Blepharoplasty pricing vary depending on geographic location and the cost structure of the surgeon. Expensive areas such as San Francisco, New York or Los Angeles or areas with fewer board certified plastic surgeons or in areas with fewer board certified plastic surgeons will have higher prices than South Florida. We charge starting at $2000 for Upper Blepharoplasty. Lower Blepharoplasty starts at $2000. Because of the lower costs in South Florida and many surgeons with high standards, patients will come from throughout the country and world for surgery. You should consult with surgeons who own his or her own nationally accredited surgery center for the highest standard of care and for cost containment.Consult with 3 experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeons to understand your options.
Costs vary dependent upon what is really needed and who is doing your surgery. See a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Don't make your decision based solely on cost.
Hello Mary1978,The cost of upper blepharoplasty in the Bay Area ranges from $2500 to 5000. This depends on the complexity of the case and what type of anesthesia you undergo. The procedure is usually performed in an outpatient surgery center and the costs should be within that $2500-5000. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty cost can range from over $2500 up to 4000 or even $5000 depending on whether or not it's done under local or in a facility with facility and anesthesia fees. if there is functional impairment and medical necessity for portions of the surgery it may be covered by insurance but the insurance will only cover those specific portions of the surgery and by law the surgeon must charge you for the remainder of the cosmetic portion. often times patients have very high deductibles and they elect to simply pay out-of-pocket for the blepharoplasty because it ends up being cheaper than using their insurance believe it or not. Best of luck Chase Lay MD
The cost of a blepharoplasty procedure is directly related to whether or not the upper eyelid surgery is performed, lower eyelid surgery is performed, or both. In addition, if there is any functional impairment of vision, medical insurance may cover a portion of that for medical necessity, but that must be documented at the time of the examination. Patients must pay for the cosmetic component themselves. When functional nasal surgery is performed and billed to patient's medical insurance, co-pays and deductibles still apply. For many examples of both upper and lower eyelid surgery, and our current price list, please see the link and the video below
Dear Ms. Mary1978,Thank you for your questions.Total costs are based on several components:A)what part of the country you have your surgery (coastal cities higher than inland cities)B)surgeons fees (more experienced surgeons are higher than less experienced)C)anesthesia fees (nurse anesthetist vs Bd. Cert. Anesthesiologist) D)facility fees (operations done in a hospital setting are usually higher in total cost)E) special equipment neededPlease search RealSelf website, Surgery.org, or PlasticSurgery.org. for the sections on the average costs and fees. Most Plastic Surgeons have financing options avavailable.I feel compelled to state that while total cost should always be taken into considerationit is your body and we usually "get what we pay for".I recommend that you make several consultative appointments with Plastic Surgeons who are experienced and Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Thank you for posting your good question. It is usually safe to shower 2-3 days after surgery. Caution must be exercised in avoiding pulling on the eyelids. Hope this helps.
For these reason, it is sometime reasonable to perform skin resurfacing or a skin pinch in conjunction with the transconjunctival blepharoplasty. A day 6, I recommend that you relax and let yourself heal. Once you are several months out from surgery you and your surgeon can consider options t...
