From initial consultation to follow up appointments every thing was flawless. Dr. Derby’s knowledge, surgical skills and personality are superb. I had been looking to get a breast reduction for 18 years and the time had finally come where I was ready to proceed with finding the right plastic surgeon to perform the procedure. With time comes emotional baggage so finding the right doctor who would truly care about what I wanted out of the surgery was paramount to me. From my first consult with Dr. Derby, it was evident that he was the perfect person to entrust with this transformational surgery. He leads with compassion and sensitivity and truly listened to me, which I find is hard to come by in medical professionals these days. He excels at putting his patients at ease and works with you to achieve your medical goals, and is your biggest cheerleader while helping you to obtain them. He's one of a kind in that he is someone you can entrust with serious procedures that will change your physical appearance, but you can trust they will enhance your overall confidence in the outcome. 20 million out of 10.

Anxiously awaiting my procedure date on May 1st. I had a consult with Dr. Derby who was very patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I felt that I made the right choice choosing this surgeon.

I decided on going with a mastopexy, anchor lift and small implants, the sizers I chose were 200cc. I believe my surgeon will use high profile since I am a very small person. I am currently 4'11 and 95-97 pounds.

I have never had a surgery before so I am really afraid of going under anesthesia, and the risk of blood clots. I did get testing for clotting disorders for peace of mind. My surgeon has been reassuring so far.

I'm 29 and have one child, and earlier in life lost about 70-75 pounds. I also breastfed. I went from a DDD/F cup to about an A- to small B cup. My breasts are essentially skin sacks. I am hoping that ALL of the skin can be removed, since I want a super perky, high and tight chest. I am looking to be a full B cup with cleavage and a rounded look. I do NOT want the "ball in a sock" look. I don't want side boob, and I want to pass the "pencil test" after healing.

I am thrilled with the results from my recent eyelid surgery, and laser skin resurfacing, with Dr Derby. The eyelid procedure was something I’ve wanted to do for a few years, however I was hesitant as I have dry eye disease. After my initial consultation with Dr Derby, I knew I was in good hands! We discussed all of my questions, and I never felt rushed at all. He explained the surgery, and his plan to tailor it specifically for me due to my dry eyes. His knowledge, experience, and calming demeanor made me feel so safe and comfortable.
Dr Derby and his entire team are so caring, and really made me feel like family. It was honestly a great experience from start to finish, and I’m beyond happy with the results.

Dr. Derby and his staff are amazing! The level of care they show is outstanding. After major weight loss I was in need of a Tummy Tuck, I was highly recommended to Dr. Derby by my doctor. At my consultation I felt so welcomed and comfortable. He is so down to earth! Dr. Derby took time to go over my goals for my body. He said I was a candidate for a “Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck”. I soon after scheduled my surgery. He and his staff made sure I was completely prepared for my surgery. From beginning to end my experience has been wonderful. And my results are beautiful beyond what I ever expected. I truly cannot recommend Dr. Derby enough. I am grateful for Dr. Derby and his staff.

Trust me when I say you want to read this review!!! DO NOT look any further for a plastic surgeon! This is my experience with Dr. Derby. I went to numerous consultations in search of the right surgeon. I met Dr. Derby and knew right at that consultation that he was the beat surgeon for me. He was so easy to talk to and listened to every insecurity I had about myself. He explained the procedure with such empathy knowing how insecure I was feeling about myself. Because of Dr. Derby my self esteem went from 0 to 100. If you want plastic surgery and want it done correctly then believe me when I say that Dr. Derby is the best board certified plastic surgeon. When I considered having cosmetic surgery (face lift, temporal brow lift, blepharoplasty) I consulted with several women who had similar procedures done by plastic surgeons in the area. Universally, they highly recommended Dr. Derby and now I can understand why. I met with Dr. Derby and the first thing that I appreciated about him, was that he listened to my concerns and what I hoped to achieve by going through cosmetic surgery. He explained in detail what he thought needed to be done, the outcome I should expect, and the limitations/risks with the procedures to be performed. I was most concerned about having an unnatural look. I wanted to look like me, just a better version of me.

I am pleased to say that his surgical skills exceeded my expectations. My eyes no longer look sunken, my neck wrinkles are gone, the contour of my jaw line is much improved…I just look “refreshed” but not “redone.” The story is told in the before and after pictures…and my story has a happy ending.

Plastic surgery is a difficult specialty because the expectations of the patient are often unrealistic, but with Dr. Derby, I am confident that most of his patients are thrilled with the results. It is no surprise that he has garnered many top awards in the Sarasota community and that his patients, including me, offer well-deserved, glowing reviews that need to be shared.
