Hi there, thanks for your question! Yes, this is normal. Breasts naturally fall to the side when we are laying down, so even if you put a breast implant in your breast pocket , it doesnt change the natural gravity of where you breasts fall when you lay down!
Hello, thank you for your question. Its perfectly normal for the breast tissue and the breast implant to fall to the side while laying down on your backside. The tissue and the implant will fall where the pull of gravity takes them. In this case over time and with the pull of gravity it may slowly fall further apart. I always recommend to my patients to wear a soft bra even while asleep to help keep them together and alleviate the pull of gravity on them. Support the implants! Happy Holidays
This can be corrected by closing the capsule laterally but you need to decide whether this correction is worth a return to the OR.
Dear RealSelfMember40309409,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thanks for your question! Some movement to the sides is normal; however, I can tell you are very early in the post-op period due to your scars. While your capsule is forming, I would strongly encourage my patients to stay in good bra support. That will help keep the implants where we want them. Laying on your back without a bra can be counterproductive for what we are trying to achieve. Good luck.
Yes, it is quite normal and breasts naturally fall to the sides when laying down. If you did not have much breast tissue to start, you may not have known this. If this movement bothers you, your lateral pockets can be tightened to restrict movement.
Some implant movement is normal. Be sure to give the breasts good support when healing from surgery in order to help with keeping the pocket from moving too much to the sides. If needed a surgical procedure can done to secure the pocket on the outer sides to keep the implants from moving too far laterally.
Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photos, I note a slightly widened intermammary distance when on your back. Otherwise there appears to be adequate cleavage. However, this is difficult to determine as you are wearing a bra. When on your back, your breasts will naturally fall to the side. However, If the "gap" between the breasts measures more than 2.5 cm, one may consider a pocket adjustment to lessen the amount of lateral drift by decreasing the lateral pocket size. If concerned, revisit your plastic surgeon.Best wishes...
Thank you for your question and photographs. First it is very very important that you be certain that your right nipple is above the level of the fulled under your breast. Your photograph appears that you have possibly grade 2 ptosis on the right side. If you have breast augmentation and...
Hi and welcome to our forum! It is difficult to visualize your situation without photos. In general, tissue expansion will increase skin surface area by stretching the involved tissues which encourages new tissue development and growth. During expansion, the pocket in which the implant resides is...
I would highly recommend performing the lift as well. I would highly recommend finding a highly trained aesthetic plastic surgeon (preferably 6 years of dedicated plastic surgery residency and 1 year of aesthetic fellowship). Best of luck!
