I have surgery in 5 days and am wondering if I'm making a mistake in sizing. My doctor doesn't think I should go above 285cc mod+ (11.4 width). I'm trying to push for the 305 mod+ (11.7) but my BDW is only 10.5. He says he will try both but thinks we'll have to do the 285. Should I push for the 305? He doesn't think I'll be happy with high profile as I am wanting a natural look. First two pics are my breast then goal photos. 120lbs, 5'3", 32A (hoping for a 32C)

Answer: Choosing the right size and profile breast implants for you After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author. Answer: Breast Width is not the only measurement! After your breast surgery, you would not be happy seeing your nipples on the low side of the breast mound, would you? A very important measurement is the distance from nipple to fold on stretch. This will govern where your nipple sits relative to implant size and regardless of implant profile. Rough estimate of maximum volume for a given nipple to fold distance is: 6.5 cm 225 cc, 7 cc 250 cc, 7.5 cm 275 cc, and 8 cm 300 cc. If you pick a 305 cc implant, but your nipple to fold distance on stretch is 6.5, you will either have low riding nipples, or if your surgeon 'lowers the fold', a high risk for double bubble. Be smart and not greedy; pushing the size in someone like you will lead to a life of complications and reoperations. You can always get larger implants later in a second operation with much more reliability.
