I have surgery in 5 days and am wondering if I'm making a mistake in sizing. My doctor doesn't think I should go above 285cc mod+ (11.4 width). I'm trying to push for the 305 mod+ (11.7) but my BDW is only 10.5. He says he will try both but thinks we'll have to do the 285. Should I push for the 305? He doesn't think I'll be happy with high profile as I am wanting a natural look. First two pics are my breast then goal photos. 120lbs, 5'3", 32A (hoping for a 32C)
Answer: Implant size Your surgeon has had the benefit of examining you and discussing your surgical goals. If you have selected a board certified plastic surgeon and you feel comfortable and confident in your choice of surgeon I would trust his opinion. It sounds as if you have discussed your desire for the larger implant and he says he will try to accommodate your wishes if it is possible.

Answer: 285 vs 305 Thanks for your question! The key to a good outcome is picking an implant that fits your body so that there aren't complications created by the size. For more volume, implant replacement down the road is always an option. Every breast is different. Your plastic surgeon is making his recommendations based on your frame, base width, etc. I would trust his judgement, and I'm sure you will get a beautiful outcome. Good luck!

Answer: Implant size Hello, Thank you for the question. Based on your photos, you appear to be a great candidate for breast augmentation procedure. Implant size discussion and implant selection is one of the most important steps during your consultation with plastic surgeon. The decision-making process depends on patient’s desires, as well as breast and soft tissue dimensions. Either 285cc or 305cc moderate plus projection breast implant size should be able to give you the look you desire. The difference in volume between these 2 implants is very small/barely noticeable. I suggest that you seek an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in order to discuss your goals and concerns for the best cosmetic results. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. Best regards, Dr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Size Your surgeon who has examined and measured you will be the best one to guide you to the range you should consider that fits your frame and tissue. If you go larger, you may have more future problems. I think the 280 cc implants will look very nice on you.

Answer: Choosing the right size and profile breast implants for you After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author.
