Dear physicians, The left side of my face is sagging more and more. I have already tried to have the face tightened by laser, which led to a loss of fat and made everything worse. A brow lift with Botox also resulted in extremely sunken eyebrows. Also fillers do not bring the desired success. Thread lift or all treatments with heat/cold I do not want. My question: Is it possible to correct this asymmetry with a facelift?
Answer: Facelift vs facelift and fat transfer Thank you for your question and sharing your photograph. You may be able to answer your own question. If you want to explore what are deep plane facelift can for you in terms of the shape of the face as well as of the symmetry, I would advise you to examine your face in the mirror lying down completely flat as well as sitting up. The appearance of the face lying down flat corresponds relatively close to the appearance after a facelift whether it is short scar or combined with neck intervention. If when lying down you find that the appearance of the face is to your liking, the deep plane facelift could represent your answer. If when lying down you find that the appearance of the face is closer to what you wish to achieve but that there is still volume deficit close to the jawline on the left side, it may be that s combination of short scar facelift and fat transfer he is necessary to achieve your goals.

Answer: Yes, absolutely Hello and thank you for your question. From what I can tell based on the picture you provided, there is some early/minimal jowling on your left side only and facial asymmetry present as you had mentioned. Even without your prior treatments, the following naturally occurs in us all as we age- the soft tissues of the face start to descend and we lose volume from fat atrophy and bone loss, resulting in the characteristic changes of facial aging. I cannot fully see your neck. To answer your question, a facelift would be the best way to address the asymmetric soft tissue descent and hollowing- there are different techniques to manipulate the SMAS layer (an important soft tissue layer under the facial skin) to really control the symmetry achieved during a facelift. At the same time, facial fat grafting can also be done at the same time to help further correct any asymmetries, refine face shape, and restore overall harmony in the rejuvenated face. In your case, I'd recommend a facelift combined with facial fat grafting (during the same surgery). With that said, it is difficult to provide tentative surgical recommendations, as there is only so much information to be gained from the single photo you have provided. I recommend for you to come see me or another plastic surgeon for a formal consultation to thoroughly discuss your surgical goals, undergo a formal examination, evaluate all your options (surgical and nonsurgical), and decide on the best procedure(s) for your specific case. I hope this helps! Best wishes, Dr. Donald Groves Plastic Surgeon

Thank you for your question first of all, I would like to point out that every person has an asymmetric face naturally, I recommend mid-midface lift surgery for sagging on the face you will have a better face image which will reduce the asymmetrics on your face we do not prefer threads to be made and I do not give a permanent result, the most preferred method is always surgical method Thank you ! regards

Answer: Why a dual approach may be right for you Thank you for your question and photo. You may benefit from a mini facelift combined with a fat transfer to create a lifted, more symmetrical appearance. A mini facelift can tighten your skin and underlying muscles while bringing them into balance. Combining a facial fat transfer with this procedure may enhance your results by adding subtle volume where needed to promote further symmetry and create a naturally youthful result. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to discuss your concerns with you, review your treatment history, and help you decide on the best course of action.

Answer: Treatment for Asymmetric Facial Sagging Yes, I do think a facelift would help improve your asymmetric sagging of facial skin and soft tissues. Obviously, the side that sags more would need to be lifted and supported more than the other side. I have even performed a one-sided facelift on a patient who had developed one-sided facial palsy. However, an examination might also reveal that your bone structure is different on the two sides, and so adding volume with either fat grafting or long-lasting fillers could be a useful adjunct to surgery.
