Having photos would allow me to make a better assessment. The BMI of 34.5 computed from your weight and height indicates that you would not currently be a candidate for a TT and BBL. Losing 25 pounds would decrease the risk of complications during and after surgery and would lead to optimal results. You want to be at a long term stable weight before the TT is performed. Otherwise, a revision may be required. Weight is not the only indicator of candidacy; your health history and current health must be evaluated.I would search for the board certified plastic surgeon who you feel is most likely to give you the best results and who performs hundreds of TT and BBL combinations each year. I would look at patient reviews as well as before and after photos on that surgeon's website. Then schedule a virtual consultation (it's typically free) with the plastic surgeon to discuss the path to reach your goals.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Thanks for the question. To avoid unnecessary risks we recommend body mass index equal or less than 30 for perform surgery. I recommend you to send a photo to us to give you advices of what you should/shouldnt perform. In case that you want to loss weight before the procedure i recommend you to go to a nutritionist to loss it in a proper way. Kind regards
Dear Abby, Front and side view pictures would have been helpful. Your BMI is under 35, so from that stand point I will not have a problem doing the tummy tuck surgery on you. Moreover, there is a very good chance that you will lose significant amount of weight due to the abdominal muscles tightening, that will reduce the amount of food that you can eat and your sense of hunger. However, I do one test on my tummy tuck patients, where they lie flat on the back. If the stomach is bulging, they have to lose more weight. If the stomach is flat or almost flat , they can proceed with the tumy tuck surgery. In regard to BBL, I can tell you that it is a total waste of your time and money, because, the fat disappears completely or almost completely after few months or even sooner. I have seen it on many patients who came to my surgery center for butt implants surgery after their big disappointment from the BBL surgery that was done by other surgeons. Butt implants are your only good option for butt augmentation. When done correctly by expert plastic surgeon, they look very attractive and natural. Always, consult with experienced boad certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive. Best of luck, Dr Widder
Thanks for your question. Hard to say without an exam or photos but your BMI is about 35. Ideally it would be lower. An in person consultation would be the best way to know if you are a good candidate or not. Good luck let me know if I can help.John S Mancoll,MD
Hello Abby.According the the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, having a BMI greater than 30 doubles the risks of infection and wound healing complications. Your BMI with your current weight is 32.4 and I would recommend weight loss before surgery to lower your risks.Best wishes,Dr. ALDO :)
