Is smoking nicotine-free vapes before, during, and after rhinoplasty fine?

Hi this is probably a silly question but I’ve recently quit nicotine and I have a nose surgery in 6 weeks. I was wondering if smoking nicotine free vapes is fine before , during and after this surgery

Hello. It is difficult to say but sometimes other substances in vaping may still affect the nose, particularly with swelling. It is best to avoid this if possible, especially during the early post-operative period. However it is best to ask your rhinoplasty surgeon as he or she may have their preference with regards to vaping and surgery.

Even though the vape is simply flavored, and not containing nicotine, it is unwise to use before, during, and after surgery. It may interfere with your healing since vapes contain unknown substances. Do your best to stop vaping. Dr. Gross
