I had a facelift 6 wks ago. My scars are worrying. They are outside of my hairline, my hair at the back is cut so hard to hide. I workout and am very uncomfortable with my hair down. Can any treatments help? Laser? Anything? Or is it too soon to worry?

Answer: Scars after facelift Hello and thank you for your question and photos. Incisions from a facelift may be within or outside of the hair line. Incisions outside the hair line are not indicative of a poorly performed surgery. While your scars will be more prominent during the first few weeks of your recovery, they will fade over time, becoming less noticeable even at a conversational distance. It could take several months for scars to fade, however, and recovery time will vary from individual to individual. Schedule an appointment with your surgeon to discuss your scar concerns. Good luck! - Jacqueline T. Cheng
