After rhinoplasty, does swelling tend to go up and down? I'm 4 weeks post op

Yes, the swelling after rhinoplasty can fluctuate for a while. It sounds like sleeping more flat in your case may be leading to some increased morning swelling which is common.I also find that postoperative swelling can fluctuate for many months related to sodium intake in your diet.

It is routine for daily variation in your nasal swelling. As time goes on, variation will decrease. One common issue with summer time is sun exposure. stay out of direct sun, wear sunblock and baseball cap/hat when you can. you will be very swollen in sun for a while. be patient and enjoy your result!!!

Yes swelling can be expected to be worse on some days as others.  It may depend on activity levels, sleeping positions, and even salt intake.  

It is very normal in the postoperative period to experience swelling that fluctuates throughout the nose. This is due to a variety of factors including diet and temperature. As the nose continues to heal, this will become less frequent. Be patient throughout this process and make sure that you followup with your rhinoplasty surgeon during this time.
