The way you ask the question is telling about how you feel about your nose. Bottom line is that you are the only person that can make the decision to consider rhinoplasty. Anyone who tries to flatly talk you out of it just "doesn't get it". If you would feel better about yourself if your nose was altered (with some caveats), then you should go for a consultation. In answer to your question, your nose is not "ugly". It's all about proportion anatomically, but at the end of the day, it's how you feel about it that matters.
You have a beautiful nose and don't need rhinoplasty. Keep in mind everyone has imperfections or insecurities. For some plastic surgery might be an answer, but plastic surgery is not for everyone. Sometimes speaking with a plastic surgeon can sometimes help provide education and reassurance.Best,Dr. Chaboki
If your nose makes you feel insecure it's definitely worth considering a rhinoplasty. A rhinoplasty procedure could reshape the nose to remove the bump on the dorsum and to deproject the nose. Suture techniques can be used to narrow the tip if you desire. A chin implant could also be placed to give your chin more projection. Make sure you do your research so that you can consult with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.
The person who would have to answer this question is you. Are you unhappy with the appearance of your nose and what specifically would you change? If there are aesthetic changes you would like to make, a consultation will be helpful in the decision making process.
Thank you for your question! I believe your question is asking whether or not surgery would improve the appearance of your nose. Based on the picture you have posted, I would think that yes improvements could be made with surgery (ie, refinement of your tip, improvement of your dorsum). However, this does NOT mean you should have surgery, alone. Rhinoplasty, especially for cosmetic concerns, is a very personal decision and should only be performed if you would like a change in the appearance of your nose. If the appearance of your nose bothers you, then this should be the driving idea behind surgical correction, in my opinion. I hope that this helps with your concerns. -David Gilpin
The decision to pursue a rhinoplasty is a very personal choice. If you are bothered by excess tip projection and dorsal projection, a rhinoplasty to reduce these can be performed.
HiFirst of all you are at an age which is unfortunately normal to be teased and to feel awkward or lack self confidence. Most teenagers outgrow this but some dont and retain the insecurities about their looks even later on in life. Your nose is not ugly in anyway. Its a decent nose at least based on that one picture. Making it smaller can make it fit your face and chin better. I can give you a lecture on how happiness and self confidence comes from within but the fact is that I have seen many many teenagers improve their self confidence with big smiles on their face after a successful #rhinoplasty. But don't rush it. Do your homework. I mean your actual homework! Dont let your nose affect your life. In your downtime do some research and find the best nosejob specialists in your area and go for a consult with your parents.
The photograph demonstrates an overly projecting nose with a dorsal hump and a weak chin profile. When patients feel insecure about these issues, consideration for a combination of rhinoplasty and chin implant can be entertained. The rhinoplasty procedure can address de-projecting the nose, reducing the dorsal hump refining the tip, if necessary. A chin implant can be inserted at the same time to give added projection to the chin/ mandible for better facial balance and proportions. For many examples of this very same combination, please see the video and the link below
The decision to proceed with plastic surgery is a very personal one. It's not something that should be suggested or actively endorsed by anyone other than yourself. Alternatively, sometimes others cannot see what you yourself see. They might not understand why your nose bothers you. There is no doubt that plastic surgery can definitely enhance one's self image and improve one's confidence. We see it on a daily basis in our patients. It is, therefore, entirely possible that just a subtle change in your nose might yield substantial benefits: it might make you happier about your look and relieve you of insecurities you have in social and professional situations. My advice? Find a reputable rhinoplasty surgeon in your area and have a leisurely consult. Take a friend or family member if you'd feel more comfortable, or simply go alone if you think that would be better. Openly discuss what it is you see when you look at pictures of yourself and in the mirror, and also discuss what you feel when you see yourself. Have a digital photo-imaging session to actually see an estimation of what your nose & face would look like after a rhinoplasty with that particular surgeon. They might also discuss things you hadn't though of, such as chin surgery. Enjoy your visit. Explore the possibilities. But understand that the decision to proceed is completely your own, and on your timeframe.
Dear Lia55, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say, and if you feel insecure regarding your appearance then it is your choice to decide upon surgery, if you so desire. Your photograph shows an overly projected nose, slight dorsal hump and a weak chin. To better balance your profile I would suggest chin augmentation and rhinoplasty. I would suggest consultation with some expert surgeons. During consultation you will be able to have digital imaging done which will allow you to see how these modifications will look with your facial aesthetics. After seeing these changes digitally you can then decide if you want to proceed with surgery and the surgeon will fully discuss what techniques will be used to attain the desired result. These procedures are very rewarding procedures with very high levels of patient satisfaction. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
While some surgeons will perform a rhinoplast on a girl as young as 14, t is generally recommended that nasal surgery be delayed until after 16-17 for a female and after 17-18 for a male. Waiting until then usually allows the nose to reach its adult size. Keep in mind, that following the advice...
Hi Anjan Kumar,Based from your photos, I don't think that your nose is too long but the your alars are definitely flaring on both sides. On side view, the bridge looks low with inadequate tip projection. However, the best way to find out what can be done is for you to have a personal...
You should speak with your rhinoplasty surgeon within a week. This could be a problem with the implant, as sometimes the implant puts pressure on the skin and causes skin wounds and breakdowns, and sometimes infections can develop and they may may manifest this way.RM
