Is it allergy to filler or numbing cream? How to treat it? (Photo)

I got juvederm voluma 5 days ago .the next day I woke up with red swollen cheeks wz a burning feeling. I talked to my plastic surgeon he prescribed Medrol for 6 days and said it s allergy to lidocaine.I m on benadryl. Swelling and burn feeling disappeared but redness still there. Will that disappear? To what I m allergic juvederm itself or lidocaine? Not to forget to mention I m allergic to penicilin.

I see this all the time in my practice and it is because people use the filler to lift the cheekbones when they really need it to lift the fat pad in the middle face and to treat the tear trough.  You need more filler to the trough and medial cheek to balance what over correction was done...

Hi @Miss Alison. Typically, it takes two weeks for the fillers to settle in. I recommend seeking treatments from expert injectors who have the skill and experience to precisely inject fillers into treatment areas and avoid risks and complications. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

The short answer is no.  Swelling associated with your treatment may dissipate within a few days, but the Voluma product will remain.  To get the desired result you want, I recommend considering the addition of 1-3 syringes.  Best route is to discuss with your doctor!Best of luck!

Fillers usually migrate when they are in areas that move often.  It is rare for this to happen wtih approprite technique and when used in the right location.  I don't restrict my patients immediately after injection except for pressure for 24 hours.  I suggest seeing a cosmetic...
