How long does it take to heal from Juvederm Voluma injections?

The deep plane in which Voluma is placed creates an immediate volume augmentation with barely any more noticed a day later, unless it is injected more superficially, for which it is not designed. Some patients need several fillers, placed in different locations and in different depths, to create a natural revolumization of the fat loss that has occurred with the aging face.

I utilize Voluma extensively in my practice -- effects are essentially immediate and bruising is typically minimal.  There exists some swelling that may take a few days to a few weeks to resolve fully, but these changes are usually subtle.  I recommend following up with your doctor to evaluate.Best of luck!

Thank you for your result.With a Voluma injection, results are instantaneous. What you see is what you get, right after the procedure. There is some swelling and bruising, which usually lasts for about 3-4 days, but afterwards, your results should seem apparent. I would return to you injector and express your concerns again. The swelling after placement of facial fillers can last between 3 to 14 days unless you have a rare reaction to the filler which can last longer. You had a large volume placed (4 syringes). The largerer the amount placed in one session the longer the recovery and swelling. To speed up the recovery and reduce the swelling in the first week you may use Arnika or Anti-inflammatory medication. If Voluma is placed in the right zones less product is usually needed to achieve the desired look. If to much is placed in the wrong regions it may create a very noticeable distorted look. The good news that this product can be removed if needed using an enzyme called Hyaluroanidase. In the future ask to see the product opened in front of you if you are concerned.Good luck!!!!  

Results from Voluma are immediate. Results from Sculptra take months to take effect. Most fillers are immediate. I would recommend you discuss with a board certified dermatologist.

Voluma gives "instant gratification" and there is no waiting period to see results.  Sculptra is a filler that takes a while to see the results, but you would not inject 4 vials at once.  If the result are not satisfactory or not noticeable after 4 syringes, you need to discuss with your physician.  Waiting 4 works will do nothing.

I'm wondering if there was some misunderstanding perhaps? With Voluma, you should see results immediately similar to other hyaluronic acid products.  Often times you will have a little bit of swelling and less commonly some bruising associated but that usually goes away after a few days.  Perhaps you had Sculptra? This filler is very different than all of the other fillers on the market as it causes collagen growth which can take about 2 months to see the effect. . . . I'm not sure but that's the only filler FDA approved in the US that works in that way such that it doesn't have an immediate effect.  The only way to get an answer is to return to your injector and discuss this with him.  Please always make sure that you see a board certified/eligible plastic surgeon or dermatologist for injections in the US to ensure adequate training and an FDA approved filler material.
