Will I likely get droop from bring down a couple of times to pick light things up in the first hour after botox?

It is highly unlikely lifting boxes and bending over forward would increase your risk for ptosis. though, most surgeons would recommend avoiding strenuous activity and exercise for 24 hours after the injection. There are no "tell tale" signs of impending ptosis. Ptosis comes on suddenly and is usually not subtle. If you are concerned you have ptosis after Botox injection you should schedule an appointment with your surgeon that performed your injection right away. I agree with Dr Ort. As a general rule you want to avoid steam room, sauna, professional facial treatments, yoga and intense exercise for one week. Its unlikely that today's movement will cause any complications.  You will be safe from any complications two weeks after your treatment. Best regards 

Thank you for your question.  We always advise to not bend over, lie down or exercise for four hours after treatment as it may potentially displace the Botox in doing so.  In our office we do have a somewhat conservative approach and do not over inject.  It would depend on the amount of units that were injected.  

It is unlikely that bending over will have any significant effect on your Botox treatment. Most do not recommend any strenuous activity or bending over for 24 hours. Enjoy your treatment!

 Thank you for your question. I don't think you have anything to worry about. In my experience, leaning forward just a little bit after a Botox treatment is insufficient to cause migration. As for exercise, I tell my patients to return to normal activities 24 hours after treatment. Hope this helps! 

Hi javra,I do not impose restrictions of picking up things from the floor to my patients after Botox injections. I believe that in the early days of Botox injections we were so afraid of it moving around that we wanted patients not to do a lot of things after the injections. After many years we now know that Botox is stable and stays were you place it. The risk of ptosis is more due to were the injection gets placed than if you bend over or do exercise.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz

You'll hear different things from different injectors regarding what things you should avoid doing after Botox.  Most of what people say to avoid afterwards is not based on any scientific evidence.  In my practice, I don't really place any restrictions on patients after Botox and I almost never see any problems.  I think that it's much more important to inject Botox in the correct areas and to be conservative in the dosing.
