Is it safe to drink alcohol after Botox? (Photo)

While alcohol should be avoided prior to a treatment (as it will increase your risk of bruising) it may be consumed safely after an injection without any untoward effects.  

Hi there! I always suggest avoiding excessive alcohol intake on in the first 24-48hours after any injectable treatment however a few glasses will cause no harm and will have no effect on your results. Best wishes,Dr Rupert

As previously stated, there should be no problem drinking alcohol the day that you received Botox injections.

There is no reason you cannot drink alcohol after getting botox.  There is no interaction.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It is fine to drink alcohol after getting botox.  There will be no effect on your treatment nor will alcohol have any effect on how long botox will last.

Thank you for your question! I always advise my clients to avoid alcohol 24h pre and post treatment as it may increase their risk of bruising. However, I do not think that 2 glasses of wine will effect the results of your treatment. Best of luck! 

Hello, thank you for your question. There is no interaction between alcohol and botox, however, alcohol causes vasodilation and might increase bruising at the injection sites. I advise my patients not to drink more than one drink on the day of botox injection for that reason. Patients with easy bruising should avid it completely for 24 hours.

Thank you for your question. I advise my patients not to drink for 24 hours after Botox and other injectable treatments as this dilates the blood vessels and therefore functions as a blood thinner. Mild bruising may arise as a result of alcohol consumption which might occur at the injection sites where your botox injections were administered.
Ideally we would advise to avoid alcohol but I do not think it gives any need for concern in this case.  When having this treatment in the future we also advise to abstain from activities such as intense workouts, saunas, as well as aspirin or Vitamin E supplements for the first 24-48 hours.

I generally advise limiting alcohol in the first 24 hours for the day prior to treatment.  This is because alcohol can thin the blood much like an aspirin, and abstaining can help prevent bruising and minimise any swelling. Alcohol as such has not been shown to affect Botox.
