Hello, I am considering getting jaw surgery done on my lower jaw to improve my jaw line and make it appear more chiseled. I am not sure if the best option for my case would be custom made PEEK implants or genioplasty. Is there a possibility of bone resorption with PEEK implants? Does genioplasty make the chin appear more pointy? A few photos are attached. Thank you for your help John

In our practice for over 25 years , we have used silastic chin implants by Implantech, with an excellent success rate. The results are very natural. We do not recommend porous implants.
If this operation is done correctly, the incidence should be low (not 0%). Things that I do to help avoid this include an intraoral incision which allows for a pocket to be created between the mandible and the pterygomasseteric sling rather than completely cutting the muscle. I hope this helps.
