In regards to removing screws from genioplasty surgery, is this safe to do?

Hi there, I did a genioplasty in January 15th 2018. I was aware that the surgeon would place some screws however I was not so aware of possible long-term effects of screws in the body and now I want to remove them. My surgeon does not recommend but I want to do it anyway. Is this possible? How is the process? How is the recovery? I live in UK therefore opinions within UK or Europe would be much appreciated, although i might consider travelling anywhere.

Hello, thank you for your question. Chin implant would produce a very nice change for you and improve facial balance. Liposuction under the chin may help as well. I recommend you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

You do appear to be a good candidate for chin augmentation. A chin implant is the much less invasive option of the two you listed. This surgery can be performed using local anesthesia and an incision inside the mouth in most cases, to eliminate visible scarring afterward. Sliding genioplasty...
