This picture is 6 months post an HT procedure. Right side frontal area displays a weak/slow growth. Please note there are still small fine hairs in that area that have been in the same mode since few months. Will that smaller hairs grow and match other area in. Density and length. Also what can I do to give more strength and growth to such small fine hair.

Answer: 6 months after combined FUT+FUE still slow/weak growth on the right side of the frontal area, what can I do? (Photo) I don't want to alarm you but there are many variables that could be going on here. I do see the weaker growth on the right side as apposed to the left side. I hope this wasn't a technician issue where upon the left side was placed by an experienced technician and the right was placed by a less experienced technician. Or it could be simply that you need to scrub during a shampoo more aggressively as that there are hairs trapped that need to shed. But time will tell as it is still quite early post op to tell full growth at this time.

Answer: A few things to consider in such a situation: A few things to consider in such a situation: First of all, it is a very common activity for one side of a hair transplant to growslower or "lag" when compared to the other. This is natural and everything shouldeven out by the 12 months mark.Secondly, are you taking any preventive medications? Patients sometimes tellsabout "thinning" of transplanted hair or one area of a transplant (particularly in aregion prone to progressive androgenic alopecia) growing poorly, and it is oftencaused by progressive loss of native hair surrounding the implanted grafts. Thisresults in an overall thinner appearance or the perception of poor yield. Third, at 6 months, your grafts are only roughly 40% matured. This means growthrates are still different and new hairs may still appear thinner and "wiry." Becauseof this, it really is important to wait a full 12 months before fully evaluating theresult. Hope this helps!
