Question

How many cc's are usually needed? Also where is the correct injection site? The first time I was injected it was lower on the face where I marked with the blue dots. The second time I went to a different dr & he injected right under the edge of the lip, where I marked with the yellow dots.

Hello and thank you for the question. Botox / Xeomin / Dysport are all interchangeable toxins to relax muscles. The DAO is an excellent area to treat. Both injection sites are appropriate. I prefer something in between both sites. the correct measure is NOT cc. it's units. The CC is a volume measure and depends on how much saline was used to mix the medication. Botox and Xeomin are 1:1 ratio. Dysport units are measured differently. 1 u of botox = 3 u of dysport. It doesn't mean one is stronger than the other. Just the measurement is different. Like inches to centimeters. Typically, I use 2-4 u of botox for this site. So for dysport it would be 6-12 u on each side. Depends on how strong the muscle is. Remember to avoid aspirin / motrin before hand as those are blood thinners and can worsen bruising. You should avoid exercise for 24 hours after as well. The medication takes 5-7 days to start working and should last about 3 months. Best to you.

Thank you for your question. The correct area to inject is the blue dotted area. The dose needed is measured in units and for Dysport the total needed is 25 units. Also, you can use fillers to help turn the corners of the mouth up. I recommend having a consultation with an expert injector to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!

Either site would be appropriate - if you are looking for more long-term results, you may wish to consider injection with fillers rather than Botox.

The blue dot is where I inject. I use 10 units of Dysport for this. It will last about 2 months I find. The lower the doses placed, the shorter duration is seen. Placement of fillers in the corners of the mouth will also help to turn frownies up.

the correct area to inject is the blue dot area. There is no difference between Dysport and Botox as far as response is concerned.  Also the dose is measured in units and for Botox it would only take about 10 units total--Dysport 25

The correct injection site for your DAO is the blue dots but you must have your doctor carefully mark out exactly where the muscle lies. 
The dosages I like are 5u per DAO Botox or 15 u per DAO for disport.
Please should you be asking do not attempt to do your own injection, any product you buy outside of a medical office probably is not genuine.
