Following a tummy tuck most patients can safely use any skin care products once the incision has healed. Unless there is a problem with healing, which typically occurs after about 10 days, I advise patients that they can put anything they choose on the incision other than ultra violet light or heat. Coconut oil would be a great choice or any of the creams that help reduce scarring. Check with your own doctor to be sure.
You should continue to hydrate your skin. After a tummy tuck, you can use Elevase Moisture Booster with Opti-Ceramides to improve moisture hydration. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian
You should be fine to use a moisturizer for your skin after 3 weeks. The only contra-indication would be if you have any incisions that did not heal properly and you have any open wounds. Coconut oil is fine to use and should not cause you any problems.
You may use a non-scented lotion as long as everything is well healed and there are no open wounds at this point. I advise my patients to not use lotions with vitamin E and they can weaken the scar and make it wider. Best wishes.
Yes, you may apply a moisturizer to the addominal skin 3 weeks after a tummy tuck except the incision. The incision should be treated with some type of scar care regimen to improve the appearance of the scar with time Best of luck.
